NHL Stanley Cup 2008 - 2009
As the NHL Regular Season came to a close, we would like to congratulate the Boston Bruins and the San Jose Sharks for clinching the Eastern and Western Conference titles.
Well the Conference Playoffs started on the 15th April, with the first session of the best of seven eliminators under way. We have the Quarter Final, Semi Final and Final rounds to look forward to before the Stanley Cup Final in June.
This year it looks like our Canadiens fans are going to have a tough time against the Bruins in the Play Offs and being totally impartial in these matters, may the best team win.
Looking back at the season, we have enjoyed good support from many NHL fans over the past months and I'm sure that during the next few weeks, we will welcome many more for these exciting games.
My money is on the Sharks this year, but I think I'll also have a side bet on the Red Wings as they look promising .......... we'll know in June!

Congratulations Solenny
Just a quick message to let you know that one of our Angels 'Solenny' gave birth to a 9lb baby Boy yesterday 6th February. Both mother and baby are doing well and are expected home today or tomorrow.
We look forward to Solenny's return to work in a few months.

Super Bowl XLIII
I would like to say a big thank you to those of you who joined us for our Super Bowl Party on Sunday. We all had a fantastic time and it was great to see such a large crowd in the Bar having fun. I would especially like to thank the Angels for the half time entertainment, the bar dancing was a real crowd pleaser, although I understand one or two in the crowd said they couldn't hear Bruce Springsteen singing 'born in the USA' very well, although I'm sure like all of us we've heard it hundreds of times before!!
Well done to the Steelers for their victory and a big thanks to the Cardinals for giving us such a good game.
We're already looking forward to Super Bowl XLIV next February.

Super Bowl XLIII - 1st February 2009
Firstly we would like to congratulate the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers for winning their Chamionship playoff finals and for giving us what looks to be an exciting Super Bowl Final.
As always, Eddy's will be holding a Super Bowl Party on Sunday the 1st February, the fun starts at 6:00pm. We will be decorating the Bar with the teams colors and flying a some Stars and Stripes flags, so with a good crowd, loud volume and the game on the giant screen, a good night will be had by all.
A special Super Bowl menu will be available and for the amazing price of $199 pesos you can have our Spicy Chicken Wings or a Jumbo Hot Dog or our homemade Burger. All meals come with Fries and a local drink of your choice.
So if you're in town for Super Bowl weekend, come and join us at Eddy's.

An Angel Gets Married
Wednesday the 17th December 2008 was a big day for us all at the Bar, as one of our Angels 'Anyi' got married.
Anyi met French Canadian Karl in the Bar earlier this year and their romance blossomed over the past months, with an engagement in the Autumn and finally the wedding at the Casa Marina Hotel.
The wedding was attended by some 40 guests, Anyi with her Parents, Aunts, Uncles and other relations and of course her sister, Solenny another of our Angels (who is expecting her first child in January) along with several of Karl's friends. With ourselves, several other distinguished guests were in attendance; Eddy and Elena, JC, Alcid, Michel.
Following the ceremony and what seemed like an endless photo call, we ate, drank annd generally made lots of noise, in typical Dominican fashion. A great time was had by all !!
Congratulations and Good Luck for the future to Karl and Anyi.
